Made famous by Louis Armstrong in 1928 but thought to have been written way before, St. James Infirmary Blues is an American Folk song that has been played by countless artists ever since.
St. James's Gate, located off the south quays of Dublin, on James's Street, was the western entrance to the city during the Middle Ages. It is also the current location of the St. James's Gate Brewery (which was taken over by Arthur Guinness in 1759).

Lyrics:

Folks i'm going to St. James's Gate
To see my baby there
She's stretched out on a long dark table
So sweet, so cold, so fair

Let her go let her go God bless her
Wherever she may be
She will search the whole world over
But she'll never find another like me

Now when I die ship me back across the sea
Drag the flag across my face
Put some money in my pocket, and a monocle in my socket
So my friends think I died quids in!

Now give me a wake like no other
Let the music play all day
Put the Guinness Brothers band at the top of my head
So we can raise Hell on the way!

Folks you've heard my story
Hand me another shot of the booze
If anyone should ever ask you, tell them
I've got St. James's Gates Blues

Let her go let her go God bless her
Wherever she may be
She will search the whole world over
But she'll never find another like me
