Kevin Offord and Andrew Vanhorn - The Street (For Abbigail)
This song came about from a dream I had just after the crash of the helicopter from HMCS Fredericton. I was friends with Abbigail Cowbrough.
My dream was her and I walking down a street in a beautiful old town. And just chatting as friends do.
My good friend Andrew Vanhorn took my ramblings of a dream and created the lyrics and the foundation of this song.
Jeremy Daw who is the studio technician then worked his magic and added some other instrumentation.
Brian Flynn also plays cello and violin.
As she was a piper and highland dancer at the end of the song, I’ve added bagpipes. Abbigail’s fellow members of the Pipes and drums at the Royal Military College of Canada tell me she used to warm up playing the tune the battle of Waterloo. Her pipe instructor Bruce Gandy was kind enough to play on the recording.
