Christine Weir - Moonflower
We all have a shadow, and the first step to self-acceptance and true happiness is to accept it. This is my take on accepting my shadow.
Moonflower
My taboos, your taboos,
let's keep them quiet,
let's keep the face on,
the name strong,
but I've grown tired.
Cloaked and denied you were like
Lava that brewed
One day I turned around,
and I looked at you,
Saw you're
Just like a Moonflower you
blossomed at night
Spread yourself wide
so you could send back the light
Heady and fragrant you drew me to you
when I look around, I see that I've lost,
I've lost my taboos
I swept my house clean,
devils grew, they multiplied
called out for 7 and more
for to join in their ride
The abyss seemed wide to cross
a world split in two
but the bridge that we built,
carries both me and you
cos' you're
Just like a Moonflower you
blossomed at night
Spread yourself wide
so you could send back the light
Heady and fragrant you drew me to you
when I look around, I see that I've lost,
I've lost my taboos
