Down By The Brewery Wall

Paul Daly lived the first 14 years of his life in Kilmainham and went to school in Basin Lane and then later to James Street CBS. For a number of years he was an altar boy in St. James Church next to the Guinness Brewery and one of the enduring memories of his time spent going to school was the formidable Brewery Wall. Whether in the class room or walking home from school, the smell of the Guinness brewing was always with you.
